Das Anselm Krisch Trio spielt amerikanischen Jazz mit besonderem Augenmerk auf groovendem Swing. Im Repertoire finden sich viele Jazz-Standards, aber auch die ein oder andere Eigenkomposition. Die Stücke sind arrangiert nach den Vorlagen der großen Pianotrios der 50er und 60er Jahre. Als Vorbilder sind hier u.a. die Trios von Oscar Peterson, Red Garland, Ahmad Jamal, Monty Alexander, Ray Brown oder Christian McBride zu nennen. Der in Tübingen lebende Pianist und Sohn des Vibraphonisten Dizzy Krisch gründete die Band im Rahmen seines Masterstudiums an der Musikhochschule Stuttgart, welches er im Januar 2014 mit Bestnote abschloss. Die drei jungen Musiker haben sich das Ziel gesetzt, einen authentischen Sound auf die Bühne zu bringen, Spass am Zusammenspiel zu haben und die Klassiker des Jazz mit der Frische der heutigen Generation weiterleben zu lassen.

The Anselm Krisch Trio plays American jazz with special attention to grooving swing. The repertoire includes many jazz standards, but also some original compositions. The pieces are arranged in the style of the 1950s and 60s, referencing the great piano trios of Oscar Peterson, Red Garland, Ahmad Jamal, Monty Alexander, Ray Brown and Christian McBride. The pianist -son of vibraphonist Dizzy Krisch- founded the band during his master studies at the 'Musikhochschule Stuttgart', which he completed with top marks in January 2014. The three young musicians aim to present an authentic jazz sound, to have fun playing together and to let the classic songs of the genre live on, while adding the freshness of the new generation.
